This is them last night at the El Rey, and oh my lord! Such joyous exuberance! It felt like my own personal inaugural ball after this month-long practice run. Plus, they’re a gaggle of post-modern hippies (if such a thing can be said to exist) making it work the throwback way in Los Angeles. Hippies! Based in L.A.! This gives me hope, and had me skipping all the way back to the bus.
