Another Reason L.A. is not New York:
(As if the world needed further proof.)
You come across an abandoned shopping cart on a city sidewalk. Quick, what is your first thought?
a) Um, it’s a shopping cart. What?
b) How rude of someone to just leave this here, blocks and blocks from the store!
c) WOAH, this is prime real estate! Home come no one else has taken this yet?! Hmm, I bet I could use it for something…
If you answered C, chances are you’re from nyc or some other such suitably dense urban space. An abandoned shopping cart—or anything else left curbside—doesn’t stay abandoned for long in the city. (And rightly so. Another man’s treasure, etc.)
Our new nabe west of the 405, where these suckers stand idle on every street corner (no joke), is apparently is a different story.
Weird.
